Ilana Herskovits, M.A. CCC-SLP

Ilana has much experience with feeding and swallowing and has delivered staff development lectures on her specialized subject area, trained staff and students on using AAC communication devices and implemented therapy treatment plans for children with a range of challenges including (but not limited to) cerebral palsy, autism, hearing loss, learning disorders, articulation and phonology, dysphagia, and apraxia. Ilana implements feeding therapy for children with anatomical disorders that necessitate diet and texture modifications due to risks of aspiration. In addition, she works closely with dieticians, radiologists, hospitals, parents, nutritionists and educational team members each step of the way to ensure the safest and most successful plan. She utilizes feeding therapy techniques with many children with food aversions and an overall negative mealtime experience. Working closely with all team members, Ilana’s clients are known to reach great heights and milestones in their road to integration into regular education settings and towards enjoyable mealtime experiences.
